Residential Support Staff

QUALIFICATIONS:
The Ideal Candidate will have:
-
Certification in the seven core competencies
-
Two year(s) relevant work experience (full time equivalency)
-
University Degree in Social Sciences or Diploma in the Human Services Field
-
Continuing Care Assistant certification
-
Have knowledge and experience in successfully applying the principles and practices of Personal Outcome Measures
Further Preference will be given to Applicants who:
-
Have experience with ‘G’ tube feedings and enema administration
-
Have experience in supporting people who have autism
-
Have experience in supporting people with epilepsy
-
Have experience supporting people with visual impairment
-
Have experience in supporting people who require support with p
ersonal care and have
participated in a
proper lifting methods and back safety training in-service
-
Have experience using sign language in supporting residents who are non verbal
-
Have experience in supporting people with severe attention seeking
behaviors including self-injurious behavior
-
Have experience supporting people who have anxiety disorder and dual diagnosis
-
Have experience or are able to create opportunities, motivate and support people to participate in activities of daily living
Applicant must have a valid drivers’ license as well as the use of a safe and reliable vehicle while on shift and be
willing to travel.
Applicants must have a proven capacity to build relationships with residents, co-workers, family, other professional
support networks and management.
Shifts include days, evenings, awake overnights, and weekends.
