24 Hour Part-Time Permanent
Residential Support Staff

QUALIFICATIONS:
The Ideal Candidate will have:

Certification in the seven core competencies
-
One year relevant work experience (full time equivalency)
-
University Degree in Social Sciences or Diploma in Disabilities Supports and Services
-
Have knowledge and experience in successfully applying the principles and practices of Person Centered Planning
-
Have a high level of performance and experience supporting people who may be verbally and/or physically aggressive
Further Preference will be given to Applicants who:
-
Have experience in supporting people with connection seeking behaviors including self-injurious behavior
-
Have experience in supporting people with bi-polar disorder, anxiety disorder, dual diagnosis and epilepsy
-
Have experience or is able to create opportunities, motivate and support people to participate in activities of daily living
-
Have experience in supporting people who require support with personal care
There can be significant physical demands associated with this position. Must be able to lift and support using appropriate lifting techniques and adaptive equipment. Must be able to bend, push, pull, grip, reach, kneel and crouch using good body mechanics.
Applicant must have a valid drivers’ license as well as the use of a safe and reliable vehicle while on shift and be willing to travel.
Applicants must have a proven capacity to build relationships with residents, co-workers, family, other professional support networks and management.
Shifts include days, evenings, overnights, and weekends.
